Eizan-Ryu Jujitsu is a self-defense martial art. Our practice is held in MIT’s Rec Center Wrestling Room. Classes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Come try a class, it is free to anyone with an MIT Rec Center membership.
Eizan-ryu Jujitsu is a martial art in which the student learns to use an attacker’s strength and momentum against them; this enables the smaller person to successfully defend against the attack of a larger, stronger person. A wide variety of techniques are used: strikes, throws, joint locks, foot sweeps, pins, chokes, projections and pressure points, with the object being to control the attacker and put them on the ground. Ukemi, the ability to fall safely, is taught and is strongly emphasized.
Eizan Ryu Jijitsu Kai is a safe space and welcoming to people of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations and gender identities.
